Got Gut Issues? Exercise Can Make it Worse

It was a Tuesday afternoon and I should have been at work.  Instead I was on the couch, again, in the fetal position feeling fatigued and crampy. The biggest question on my mind, “Why me? I’m trying so hard to do everything right!” I had started to rid my gut of a bunch of parasites and bad bacteria, and I was eating exceptionally healthy and hitting the gym (hard) 5-6 times a week. But gut healing just wasn’t happening and I’d added a ridiculous 10 kg’s and two stretchy-pants sizes in less than two months on my strict regime.

I've been snacking on bliss balls for a few years now when we travel. I whip up a huge batch the night before we leave and stash them in my carry on bag. Moroccan Berber-style Chicken Tagine

After an incredible birthday celebration in Marrakech last weekend, I developed a love affair with the taste-sensation that is tagine.  Such a delicious and nutritious way to include copious amounts of veggies, animal-based protein (can be created meat-free) and a decent dose of healthy fats into one perfect meal!  Not to mention the flavours are so unique that they transport me back to Morocco every time I open my kitchen cupboard and smell the aromas of a tagine spice mix we found.  Are you ready for a super simple Moroccan delight?
